Lawyer fears 9/11 trial will be 'insanity'

Lawyer fears trial for alleged 9/11 mastermind will be "insanity"

I think the attorney, Prescott Prince, in this incredibly important case of the alleged 9/11 mastermind should be given awards and commendations just for standing up in defense of the Constitution and taking on the most difficult case he will ever try.

No doubt this man has or will receive death threats, and possibly threats against his family. Let's face it - there are plenty of Americans who believe in nationalism before patriotism. And he is significantly understaffed, courtesy of his own government. The United States government believes that he can put up a proper defense with only himself, a paralegal, an intelligence expert, and one other attorney. President Bush needs more help than that just to tie his shoes!

And I respect his decision to go public with his concerns about the legality of this trial and the procedures involved. He boldly states that waterboarding is torture and that any statement made under such duress would have absolutely no legal bearing in a civilian court and is definitely unConstitutional. But he doesn't have the luxury of the Constitution. The rules are different for his client. They face a secret trial, refusal to see counsel, secret evidence, and an American public that hates them both.

People need to understand what a wonderfully patriotic act Mr. Prince is carrying out. He is not only defending his client, but also the American system of justice (to the best of his ability). And despite the illegal acts (or lack of action) levied upon him by the military, Congress, Supreme Court, and White House, he is trying to show that justice can and should be blind. After this is over, I hope he can quickly retire and live the rest of his life in peace.

NASA Staffed with 12-year olds

13-year old German boy proves NASA wrong

NASA seems to be adding notches to their bedpost in the category of stupid mistakes. They have miscalculated landing distances (metres vs. feet) causing us to lose a $180 million satellite. The Columbia disaster was followed by the agency losing the original footage of the Armstrong moon landing. And to top it all off, a 13-year old German boy has proven NASA's calculations wrong.

NASA originally predicted the Apophis asteroid had a 1 in 45,000 chance of colliding with Earth. However, after this 13-year old used a German observatory to make his own calculations, he realized that NASA neglected to take collisions with other satellites/asteroids into their account. By doing so, the real possibility is just 1 in 450 that the asteroid will slam into our home world.

After the revelation, NASA took a look at his work and had to admit he is right. If the asteroid were to hit another asteroid and be pointed towards Earth, it would form a solid ball of iron weighing approximately 200 billion tons and slam into the Atlantic ocean. That impact would cause all Atlantic coastal areas to be wiped out and a huge dust cloud would block the sun's rays. Basically, think dinosaur extinction all over again.

Fun, right? That's a lot NASA. Go back to making your burrito lunches in an Easy Bake Oven!
