FEMA: Fake Emergency Management Administration
New FEMA Rule: When all else fails, fake it!
What do you get when a federal executive agency under President Bush claims to not repeat failure: the same failure over and over again. As if anything more should have been expected, we have another shining example of Bush Administration policy. I'm sure the memo is worded something like this:
"To: Everyone in my cool White House,
If those pesky journalists are asking tough questions, just don't invite them!
Your buddy with his own plane,
Goerg UU Bush"
The serious situation I'm unfortunately making fun of is the moment where FEMA decided to hold a FAKE news conference about the Southern California wild fires. They sent word to real journalists a whopping 15 minutes in advance and when (expectedly) none of them could make it to the news conference on time, FEMA arranged for their own employees to play the part of journalists and ask nothing but softball questions. The real journalists with real questions were given an 800-number to call, but they could only listen, not participate.
The dog-and-pony show was hosted by the agency's deputy director Vice Adm. Harvey E. Johnson. Yes, an Admiral in the United States Navy somehow forgot where which ship he left his honor on and decided to defraud the very American citizens he swore to protect. But this is yet another shining example of the attitudes and policies of the Bush Administration. Lying? OK. Torturing? OK. Fraud? OK. Destroying the US Constitution in an attempt to empower an elected king so that he can use excitable phrases like "axis of evil" and "defend freedom"? OK.
Oh yeah, and my thanks (once again) to the US Congress for doing such a fine job in representing the interests of the American people who elected them. "You're doin' a heck of a job Pelosi."

NASA: National Association of Suicide Assistants
NASA begins shredding evidence regarding unsafe air travel
Yes, you read that headline correctly. NASA ordered the immediate destruction of evidence about the true lack of safety found in airline travel! After conducting a four year study and interviewing 24,000 pilots, NASA now claims that the information was so horrific, it may scare people from flying and negatively impact the profits of airline companies. And as if that wasn't bad enough, this report shows that official government statistics in some areas (like near-collisions, runway incursions, and bird strikes) are sometimes underreported by as much as 50%.
NASA Director statement about withholding taxpayer funded report
This document is the lame and impotent attempt by the NASA Director to address the issue and comfort everyone with his ineptitude. As you will see in the linked document, he never addresses the issue of document destruction. He refuses to state that it never happened. He coyly states that he has directed someone else to "look into" this.
Gee, I hope NASA isn't inconvenienced with an investigation into treason against the American public! Heaven forbid public safety should trump the monetary concerns of corporations! Let's take a look at some other government agencies...
Maybe the FDA shouldn't tell us that Olestra causes anal leakage because it might impact profits.
Maybe the FBI shouldn't tell us that Microsoft is part of a Russian mafia cartel selling narcotics on the streets of Seattle because it might hurt profits.
Maybe NASA shouldn't tell us about airline safety because it might hurt profits. (Check that off the list!)
Maybe the FTC/FCC shouldn't tell us that cell phones cause brain cancer because it might hurt profits.
Maybe Congress shouldn't tell us when the Vice President commits impeachable offenses because it might hurt Halliburton profits. (Check that off the list!)
My fellow Americans - at what point do you drop what you're doing and stand up for your own freedom? The safety of your children? The future of this country? What more needs to happen?

Willing to Give Up Executive Powers? A Clinton?
Hillary Clinton says she'll return some executive powers if elected
Could it be true that a Clinton has promised to return some powers stolen by the Bush Administration back to Congress? It should be noted that every President, from Lincoln forward, has attempted to increase the powers of the Executive in one way or another. Rarely has it been done on the criminal and unAmerican scale exhibited by the Bush Administration, but to each his own.
While I am wholeheartedly appreciative of this statement from Sen. Clinton, I have my reservations. If she feels they were taken inappropriately, why isn't she doing anything about them now? In fact, she was part of the Congressional failure to prevent Bush from stealing them in the first place! She signed the declaration giving Bush the public authority to invade Iraq in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
I suppose the more I look at this, the less encouraged I am. She gave Bush his powers and now says he stole them. She can't call it stealing if she helped hand them over. Makes me wonder how creatively she'll break this CTP (Campaign Trail Promise) if she sits in the Oval Office.

Ann Coulter is a Nazi
CNN Political Ticker Link
For those of you wanting a short blog, here it is:
Ann Coulter is a Nazi. No self-respecting journalist should interview her. No political party should be proud of her membership. No religion should boast of her ideals.
Ann Coulter is a dyed-in-the-wool Nazi!

Amy Kortlang/Mark Kackstetter UPDATE
Kackstetter agrees to settlement terms
Don't ask me how I missed this one, but I suppose it's better late than never. Ironically, that's probably the same thing Mark Kackstetter said about the resolution to this lawsuit. This chapter will finally come to a close...of sorts.
Mark Kackstetter, the owner of MK Concrete in Ramona, California, and the man who hired illegal alien Rafael Ramirez Perez has agreed to pay the Kortlang family $449,999 as a means of resolving the lawsuit they filed against him after their daughter Amy was murdered by Perez. As part of the settlement, he and his company "dispute the allegations that Perez had been permitted to drive the truck the night of the crash and that he was acting in the course of his job when the collision occurred. Kackstetter and his company do not admit any of the allegations in the lawsuit".
I feel a true sympathy for Amy Kortlang's family who must now try and put this behind them and never hear so much as "I'm sorry" from these criminals who took Amy's life. Mark Kackstetter has proven he does not care about his country, his community, the law, or the fact that he was a contributing factor to the death of a young woman. As I've mentioned in other posts, Rafael Ramirez Perez is just as despicable as his former boss.
This is a shining example of why every one of you must boycott MK Concrete and companies like it. If you knowingly support businesses that hire illegal aliens, you are telling those business owners that their repugnant practices are okay with you. Take a few minutes out of your life to do some research before giving your money. It may help you sleep better knowing you're not helping illegal aliens commit murder.

Will there ever really be anyone to look up to?
Every hero that any person regardless of political or ideological allegiance holds dear will eventually prove themselves to be a total fraud given a long enough time line.

John McCain doesn't understand the U.S. Constitution
During an interview with BeliefNet, Republican Presidential candidate John McCain stated that he believes America was founded as a Christian nation and that he would prefer a Christian to be elected. But don't take my word for it...use his:
"I just have to say in all candor that since this nation was founded primarily on Christian principles, personally, I prefer someone who has a grounding in my faith..."
and
"I would probably have to say yes, that the Constitution established the United States of America as a Christian nation."
I regret having to point out the flaws of a U.S. Senator, veteran, and Presidential candidate, but no where in the Constitution does it establish this country as a Christian nation. In fact, if he had bothered to read the First Amendment (One-tenth of the Bill of Rights), he would see that the Founders went to great lengths to point out that there is no official religion of this country. Furthermore, the following statement was approved by the United States Senate and ratified by President John Adams in 1797: "The United States is not a Christian nation any more than it is a Jewish or Mohammedan Nation."
If the Constitution specifically states that there is no official religion in the United States, and the founders of this nation went to great lengths to establish that fact, and then the U.S. Senate and President clearly stated it, what could have led to John McCain's confusion?
Sadly, it almost doesn't matter. He has lost my vote and will not occupy the Oval Office. And it's sad because seven years ago, he had one hell of a shot.

Tell Me Again About Illegals Benefitting the USA...
Illegal Aliens cost L.A. County $1 BILLION a year
As you can read in the article linked above, L.A. County has just released a study showing that illegal aliens cost in excess of $1 BILLION dollars per year. This includes welfare, food stamps, health care, etc. And worst of all, that figure does not include the cost of education, which I would estimate to be at least another HALF BILLION annually. This is just L.A. County! Multiply that a few hundred times for other counties across the country.
So for the glorious defenders of illegal immigration, I have a request: Tell me again about how illegal aliens are contributing to the United States of America. They increase gang activity, violent crimes, drain the government system, and their first act upon entering this country is to violate it's laws. They then turn around and send most of their illegally earned wages back to their home country. So even their spending money doesn't stay in the US economy.
