E-mail Sent to Congress
I can't say this is my best work, but I'm so incensed by this Congress that I had to get something to them ASAP. So I sent the following e-mail to Senators Boxer, Feinstein, Clinton, McCain, and Obama. (Boxer and Feinstein are my Senators from California.)
Dear Senator _________,
I appreciate your willingness to read my e-mail and your time. For those reasons, I will keep this brief.
Regarding the recent Senate "compromise" on immigration legislation, I can not view this as anything but a total failure and an irresponsible act from those sworn to represent American citizens. In effect, this compromise puts the value of American citizenship at $5,000. Does that seem right to you? Perhaps the al-Qaeda terrorists holding our soldiers should just send us a $15,000 certified check and we can transfer the responsibility of their return to some other government. Another direction of investment could be to simply remove the security wall along our Mexican border and replace it with toll booths. As foreigners cross our border, they can deposit $5,000 and become citizens. They won't even have to return home first...they just left!
Sarcasm aside, my point is that this bill is a true execution of the "sell out America" plan. This will encourage larger WAVES of illegal immigration, a huge drain on our national infrastructure, and the downfall of this nation.
And before my comments are cast aside, I make this promise to you and all elected representatives and candidates for office:
I will not vote for ANYONE who supports this bill or an amnesty for illegal aliens. Positions on abortion, the environment, guns, corruption, drugs, the Iraq war disaster, or anything else become irrelevant to me for any candidate who is in favor of this approach.
Again, thank you for your time.

A MOrBid Mentality
WARNING: Disturbing and violent images.
I'm not going to pin this directly on a religion but rather consider it an ethnic/cultural issue that just happens to be primarily fueled by religion. This entire region is stuck in an antiquated era and it seems that they are only moving backwards. Of course, this begs the question of why we are over there occupying a nation in the hopes of spreading democracy. It's not even compatible! To think our greed facilitates this...

No More of Moore
I have never been a fan of this guy. I don't know if it's the fact that he weighs three hundred pounds, has a gunny sack for a chin, gargles mayonnaise or his stupid 'working man's' cap, but if I found the guy tied up on a railroad track with a caped villain complete with curled mustache and top hat taking pleasure in his certain impending doom, I honestly think I would just keep rolling on by, even if it was in Rancho. That being said, I make it a point to separate the person from the work; I may not agree with an individual's politics, but I can still appreciate their work if I find it to be significant. The problem is, I just can't hold Moore's work in any kind of high esteem. He has admittedly strayed from the duties of a documentary film maker and would rather acknowledge himself as a satirist who provokes thought. The thing is, ANYBODY can be a satirist. If you dedicate enough time to constructing an argument and be selective with facts, you can convince a vast majority of people that your point of view is correct.
I found an interesting series on YouTube called "6 Degrees from the Truth". In it, the creators call out Moore on the "facts" that were purported in his movies and often correct him. The quality is sub-par and the narrating could use some fine tuning, but the message is interesting nevertheless. It's an interesting opposition to what Moore crams down everyone's throats and deserves a look.
