Justice Served Cold
Turning up the heat on greedy execs.
As reported earlier, Golden State Fence Company, the very company contracted to construct a fence on the US/Mexico border has come under fire and its executives are now looking at hard time. AMEN to that. Now all the San Diego federal court has to do is take a look over in Ramona at Mark Kackstetter. He has to be feeling the heat by now.

Forget Congress...Amnesty for illegals is already here!
Illegals allowed to cross border five times before prosecution!
In the above article, you will see evidence from former US government prosecutors that it was common practice to not prosecute illegal aliens until after their fifth deportation.
I guarantee that if you ask the family of Amy Kortlang what they think about the US government waiting for a 6th illegal border crossing before they begin prosecuting the person, they may let loose with some less-than-media-friendly words and remind you about Amy.
Since diving into this issue a few months ago, The Onramp Podcast has told you what happened to Amy when she was killed by an illegal alien driving drunk. We've asked you to boycott the company that hired that illegal, MK Concrete in Ramona, California. Now we know that the government is unwilling to protect the citizens of the United States and we have to do all the work ourselves. Heck, the guy who killed Amy Kortland had only crossed the border four times. If it wasn't for that pesky murder with his work truck, he had two more DUIs, deportations, and illegal crossings to go before the feds pretended to care.
Combine this latest revelation with my previous post about 74% of illegal alien crime in Orange County being considered a felony and take a few moments to do the math. How many more murders will be allowed by our government? Rapes? Drug trafficking? Aggravated assault? Grand theft? Child molestation?
Once again I say to my government with pure sarcasm: Thanks a lot.

10% of Orange County, CA criminals are illegal
639 arrestees flagged for immigration violations - OC Register
For those who aren't aware, Orange County, California is a bastion of middle-upper to upper class living in one of the most beautiful areas of Southern California. It is solidly Republican and very white and Asian...who hire Hispanics to do their gardening.
Anyway, the OC Sheriff's department released a report yesterday showing that approximately 10% of the inmates they booked into their jail system were flagged for immigration violations. Of the 6,100 people booked in a single month, 639 of them were flagged.
Can you imagine the benefit to this state if 10%-15% of the prison population was gone and taxpayers didn't have to feed them, house them, electrocute them, inject them, give them gyms, give them cable? The overcrowding situation would be dramatically reduced, gang violence would drop like K-Fed dropped Britney, insurance claims would decrease by millions of dollars, and in one month alone, there would have been 471 LESS FELONIES in Orange County alone!
This is a prime example of the type of information ignored or skewed by the pro-illegal members of Congress. They figure, "hey, if 85%-90% of them are not breaking the law, we can handle a few extra murders, rapes, wife-beatings, and child molestations. Let the amnesty begin!"
Illegal immigration is the greatest threat to our country at the current time (other than the Bush Presidency). I make my pledge again: Any current office holder or candidate that is in favor of less enforcement, amnesty, or "comprehensive immigration reform" will not get my vote. I will not help you destroy America.

4) Does he feel bad about Amy's death?
5) How many legal residents or citizens applied for the job he gave to Mr. Perez, the illegal alien?
6) How's business?
NOTE: BEFORE CONTACTING MARK KACKSTETTER OR ANY EMPLOYEE OF M.K. CONCRETE, THE ONRAMP PODCAST ASKS THAT YOU NOT HARASS HIM, BELITTLE HIM, ATTACK HIM, BADGER HIM, OR EVEN YELL! Torture, Anyone?
Transcript: Gitmo detainee confesses 9/11 role
If you've ever been extremely thirsty, I recommend you call the White House, or maybe Langley Virginia and get a hold of CIA Headquarters. They have a very effective method of curing that pesky need for water...and honesty. It's called "waterboarding". In a nutshell, it's an internationally recognized form of torture where they put you in a nearly upside-down position and through dunking or pouring water on you, give you the sensation of drowning.
This method of torture has been approved by our President and sources are now confirming that the United States government used this torture on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to force a confession about his role in the September 11 attacks and a variety of other planned terrorist activity that did not occur.
At this point, we are supposed to be proud of our government and elated that we got a monster of a human being to admit his role in 9/11.
Not exactly.
If I held a hot brand to the bottom of your feet every time you denied being involved in 9/11, how long would it take until you finally said you were part of the plot? If I ripped out a finger nail or toe nail every time you said you had nothing to do with John Lennon's murder, how long would it take until you said you pulled the trigger? How long would it take if I made you believe you were drowning?
According to U.S. sources to ABC News, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (often referred to as "KSM") lasted longer than most. He lasted nearly two and a half minutes before "confessing all".
So here's my wrap-up. George W. Bush and the CIA have sold out America. They have betrayed the moral high road and the citizens of this country by becoming the very enemy they swore to protect us against. Now what leverage do we have against other nations torturing our people? Torturing our soldiers? Torturing our missionaries? Torturing our aid workers? The foreign enemy can now point to this case and say, "I can torture your people because you torture ours."
At what point does America rise up -in the face of an impotent Congress- and remove George W. Bush from office?
Update (3:52pm PST, Mar. 15, 2007): This is exactly why torture is useless as an interrogation method:
"'In light of the rambling nature of his statements, and the views of some that he is prone to exaggerate his importance, we cannot feel confident we know exactly the level of his involvement in various prior attacks,' said Joshua Dressler, a criminal law expert at Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University."

Teen angst on a new level
http://www.ohionewsnow.com/?sec=news&story=sites/10tv/content/pool/200703/1583692309.html
What I want to know is, how in the world did this kid find out who his accuser was? Isn't there some kind of protection for informants? Or are Boss Hogg and Sheriff Rosco over in Athens County totally clueless about how police work is done? Either way, I don't see any reason why the accuser/witness had to be identified, unless it was done by a fellow peer. 13 year olds are about as stupid as they come after all.
This brings me to my next point. How does a teenager get so out of control that he is charged with felonies numbering in the TRIPLE DIGITS?!?! As can already be expected, the stepfather gave an incredibly flaccid response which basically conveyed nothing more than his dumbfoundedness and complete lack of anything that would remotely resemble a clue. Perhaps this is a textbook case of a youth who has no father figure and gets left behind by society. At any rate, and I hate to sound like a storm trooper for the family values cause, if effective parenting would have been done and early symptoms of his astray behavior would have been treated, we may have had an entirely different outcome, perhaps even having him charged with only double digit felonies (99 would still be an improvement). The way things are going, it looks like you'd have an easier time befriending a vicious Rottweiler than finding a kid who's on the straight and narrow.

Viacom Sues GOOGLE for $1 BILLION
Viacom in $1 bln copyright suit vs Google, YouTube
The day of reckoning has finally arrived. The nemesis to freedom and growth -corporate America- has come raining down on the world of enjoyable entertainment as Viacom has filed a lawsuit against GOOGLE, the owners of YouTube, for one billion dollars. They are claiming a massive copyright infringement of more than 160,000 items. According to their research, these things were viewed more than 1.5 billion times and have earned GOOGLE/YouTube money.I would like to see how Viacom intends to prove that this impacted their company negatively. For example, I enjoy a good Star Trek episode every now and again. I went to YouTube to see what was on there that might bring back some of the memories I had of watching Star Trek with my Dad. I found a few episodes that I enjoyed and a few days later went to Circuit City and purchased a $30 "Star Trek: Borg" episode collection. I can guarantee you I would not have made that purchase were it not for the ease of searching for past episodes on YouTube.
Viacom - I hope your lawsuit fails miserably and the world can continue finding things they enjoy and rewarding your embrace of easily accessible media.

More Good Immigration News
http://www.breitbart.com/news/2007/03/09/D8NOT6MG1.html
Federal authorities have conducted raids in Arizona, California, and Massachusetts in this past week arresting illegal aliens, their employers, and those providing counterfeit documents.
Hopefully more raids like this will discourage businesses from selling out America and hiring illegal aliens. I also hope that this means less illegals on the streets, killing innocent Americans like Amy Kortlang.
For your reference, the names of the companies recently raided are:
Sun Dry Wall & Stucco (AZ) - Also arrested were Ivan Hardt and Carol Hill
Michael Bianco, Inc. (MA) - Also arrested were Francesco Insolia, Dilia Costa, Ana Figueroa, Gloria Melo who knowingly hired and covered for their illegal employees.
Raphael's Party Rentals (CA) - The owner, Philip Silverman is not under investigation and cooperated with authorities.

Newt: The Slimy Reptile
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1597666,00.html?cnn=yes
For a man who regularly railed against President Bill Clinton for his extra marital affair and tarnishing the nation, this hypocritical liar finally admits that he was having his own extra marital affair during the impeachment. Andrew mentioned two weeks ago that Gore was living by a "do as I say, not as I do" credo and now we have yet another example to hurl into the inferno of devious politicians. Clearly, the aisle dividing the Congress is not impervious to deception.
A few days ago, the leader of the Southern Baptist Convention said that Rudy Guiliani's two divorces represent a problem to his being embraced by the religious right wing of the Republican party. I wonder if he will have the same compunction about Newt Gingrich and his two divorces, extra marital affairs, and punishment by the House ethics committee for rules violations. Let's see how much farther political hypocrisy can be stretched when conservatives are so desperate for a candidate that they endorse flip-flopping Mormon.

I saw it...

About five years ago I fell into another one of my stereotypical obsessions. Friends and colleagues of mine can vouch for this phenomenon, as once I get my brain set on something there is nothing that can thwart its death grip on the matter. During this time, I had watched a documentary on the Zodiac killer, a now world-famous serial murderer who terrorized the state of California in the late sixties and early seventies. To this day, the Zodiac has not been apprehended.
Soon after watching the documentary, I went straight to Google and read up on anything I could find on the killer. Perhaps what intrigued me in particular was the theory that Zodiac's first kill was right in my own back yard; the parking lot of Riverside Community College. Sleeping soundly came to be a bit of a challenge for a while afterwards, as I knew in the back of my mind that Cheri Bates was murdered, possibly by the Zodiac, in a crime that was the first and only unsolved homicide in Riverside. While Zodiac may or may not have been Bates' killer, he certainly enjoyed taking credit for it.

Below are very good resources for further research:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zodiac_Killer
http://www.zodiackiller.com/
Zodiac is the suspect at large in the slayings of seven victims in the Bay area. While seven victims may not seem like a lot, especially in comparison to the mortality rate of daily commuters on Southern California freeways, his elusiveness and legacy will make him a centerpiece for those obsessed with unsolved mysteries. Most speculate that Arthur Leigh Allen was the Zodiac due to similarities in characteristics and other peculiar traits. If such is the case, he will have never been brought to justice as he expired of natural causes in the early nineties.
I'm not going to give a movie review quite yet (you have to listen to the show!), but I will say that it is definitely worth the nine bucks if you have ever had any interest in this case. If you're a casual viewer, the 3 hour duration of the movie may be a deterrent. At any rate, this movie does accomplish an excellent entertainment/accuracy ratio, and does justice to a piece of California history that will always loom ominously over the state.
